Development Centre

The Development Centre provides a software factory capability, which in collaboration with the development teams placed at the client site, is able to engineer and develop the software and database systems that are necessary for implementation at the client’s site.

The Infomet Development Centre has been structured in such a way to serve the demands of our clients in an efficient and effective manner. The Development Centre has functional competencies in the areas of Business Consulting, Business Engineering and Software Engineering.

The Business Consulting competency provides expert domain services to our clients, either through a direct channel or in collaboration with the other Infomet Centres. Although we have a dominant hold in the Financial Services Market right now, especially in terms of Regulatory Compliancy, we also have the ability to provide domain expertise in other markets, such as insurance, manufacturing, mining, and transportation and so on.

The Business Engineering competency focuses on developing business opportunities for our clients. Usually, Information Technology Solutions are implemented to solve a particular business or technical problem and nothing more. With careful consideration, however, these solutions can typically be applied to solve a myriad of other problems or can be expanded to present new opportunities or even open new markets for our clients.

The Software Engineering competency is responsible for the delivery of quality software solutions to clients. This competency delivers a technical solution in close collaboration with the Business Consulting, the Business Engineering and other Infomet Centres. In addition to expanding and updating the core Infomet Product Suite, the Software Engineering competency also develops new products, either for the exclusive use of our clients or to be included into the Infomet Offerings.

Technologies and Capabilities
Right now, the Development Centre is in the final stages of implementation of a Centralized DI Reporting  System for ABSA Bank Limited.

The Development Centre favours work products based on the Generic Business Model. This includes a variety of applications ranging from a full e-Business Platform suite of Offerings, to Compliance Products for the Financial Sector.

The Developers
In typical Infomet tradition, the developers are exceptionally well selected and trained in proper system’s methodologies. Because Infomet is fundamentally a System Methodology company, the developers learn how to work in a properly structured project environment.

The developers have the ability to analyse and estimate their tasks, they can use the formal Infomet modelling techniques and can implement from well formed specifications. They can work in a collaborative manner so that when they complete their deliverables, all parts fit well together. This creates a tremendous consistency in the work streams and it reflects in the quality of the system.
